John Sebring:
The Rhythmic Pulse of TWOFEW

John Sebring's passion for drumming began at a young age. From the moment he first picked up drumsticks, he was hooked, and by his senior year of high school, he was already planning to form a band with his friend Curt. Although the band never materialized, John’s dedication to drumming was unwavering. After graduation, he purchased a drum set, the same one he still plays on 32 years later.

Determined to play original music, John sought out like-minded musicians. He found Eric, the brother of a coworker, and together with an exceptional bass player, they began crafting original tunes. Though they experimented with cover songs, it was their original compositions that truly resonated with them.

In 1994, at just 20 years old, John auditioned to be the drummer for Pearl Jam after hearing a radio announcement about the band's search for a new drummer. Although he didn’t make the cut, the experience was invaluable. Around the same time, he met Ben, a local drummer from the band Villan, who taught him various drumming techniques. Their friendship remains strong to this day.

At 22, John got married and soon became a father. He moved to Illinois for work and briefly played with a band in Kenosha, Wisconsin, before taking a long hiatus from drumming. During those years, he would occasionally play for fun, but it wasn’t until his divorce in 2022 that he returned to drumming with renewed vigor.

John reconnected with his passion by playing with a guitarist named Jon and then auditioned for a Phoenix-based country band. However, his heart was in rock music, not country. It was then that he discovered TWOFEW. Mike, a member of the band, invited him to audition. Mike arranged for John to come over a few days early to play and get to know each other.

After a successful audition on October 8th 2022, the band members—Mike, Dani, and Dave—invited John to join them. Dani asked John “Do you even like our music?” John smiled and said “Of Course! Yeah!” For John, joining TWOFEW was more than just finding a band; it was finding a new family.

John Sebring, the talented percussionist for TWOFEW, provides the driving beat and rhythmic foundation that propels the band's music forward. With his dynamic drumming and impeccable timing, Sebring adds a layer of energy and excitement to the band's unique sound.

As a key member of TWOFEW, Sebring's contributions are evident in the band's critically acclaimed debut album, "Lips Blue." His rhythmic interplay with bassist Danielle Lazar creates a solid groove that anchors the melodies and harmonies crafted by Michael and David Lazar. Sebring's percussive prowess continues to shine as the band works on their highly anticipated second and third albums.
